In an effort to overcome the mile range stumbling block of electric transportation, Zero Motorcycles has unveiled its model line for 2012 featuring a revolutionary new powertrain. The technology enables its motorcycles to exceed 100 miles per charge, last for a bike's entire lifespan and achieve speeds of up to 88mph.
It is the first time in transportation history that a production electric motorcycle has been capable of exceeding this mileage milestone, however Zero says it has not compromised on styling, performance or speed.

The Z-Force power pack features an all-new battery cell chemistry which is up to 95 percent more energy dense and is rated to 3,000 complete charges before it reaches 80 percent capacity. This means a bike fitted with this power pack could potentially travel a staggering 308,000 miles before a replacement is needed.
“The 2012 model line is truly game changing. It marks the first time in history that riders can actually own an electric motorcycle that is capable of exceeding 100 miles of range on a single charge,” said Scot Harden, VP of Global Marketing of Zero Motorcycles. “Every model in the lineup goes faster, further and is more fun than ever before. These are not concepts. In less than three months, riders can see and purchase 2012 models at authorized Zero Motorcycles dealers.”
In total there are five models to choose from, with prices starting at $7,695 going all the way up to £13,995.
