With GE Intelligent Platform’s latest innovation, users can bring together and organise content in the context of an individual plant structure, taking web-based content from other Proficy software solutions and third-party displays and placing it into one manageable environment.

Proficy Vision enables users to have their web-based content side-by-side in the same application, allowing them to see the information they need to get the job done. Offering a convenient one-stop show, the software offers a single place to display structured data (ERP, EAM, MES, SCADA, etc.) alongside unstructured data (social business, spreadsheets, news feeds, etc.).

General Manager Manufacturing Software for GE Intelligent Platforms, Don Busiek said:

“Success for manufacturing and infrastructure business increasingly relies on broad, secure access to cross-enterprise information enabled by the Industrial Internet. Only with timely and relevant insights can businesses truly optimise operational performance.”

By providing relevant and cross-enterprise insights, Proficy Vision delivers a role-specific user interface for maximum efficiency, allowing users to better anticipate, collaborate and orchestrate responses to dynamic operational conditions with greater agility and precision.

Busiek commented:

“Disparate systems, limited resources, and multiple roles and responsibilities often create silos of information that limit visibility and make collaboration and driving operational improvements difficult.

“With Proficy Vision, users can organise content the way they want, whether that means tying content to a piece of equipment or within a specific area of the facility – putting data they need at their fingertips, when they need it.”

Bill Fritz, Director of Waterford Township, Michigan Department of Public Works, is someone who has already seen the benefits offered by Proficy Vision. Overseeing both Water and Wastewater operations, Fritz can see whether an event in one area has affected the other without having to haphazardly overlay one program over another:

“First and foremost, it’s a time-saver. By pulling everything into one environment, it allows easier access to information and becomes a one-stop shop to view all of my web-based applications. It allows us to coordinate everything and that makes it a dispatching tool for us.”

Proficy Vision can be used wherever there is internet access, making it easier to collaborate around the plant or around the world. Users can navigate through their displays in a virtual environment and see the content at each level as they navigate.

Busiek concluded:

“Proficy Vision introduces a new and unique paradigm for navigating your operations, enabling equipment-centric, product-centric and people-centric views of your world. It’s like a map and compass on your operations that delivers real-time operational intelligence, helping you make sense of a complex world.”
