As part of its Plan A environmental targets, which includes a goal to send no packaging waste to landfill by 2012, M&S has reduced its packaging of top-selling Easter product Molly Moo by 80 percent on last year.
More than 83 percent of packaging across the M&S Easter range is recyclable and 63 percent is from sustainable sources.
Helene Roberts, Head of Packaging at M&S, told Packaging News: “We've worked hard this year to find some clever ways to reduce the packaging while still creating a range of eggs that our customers will be proud to give – and of course, they taste great too.”
Under Plan A, M&S is committed to a 25 percent reduction for all food packaging as well as using sustainable raw materials where possible.
