The Empathy has a stunning design. The handset is angular shaped and black with an OLED touch screen that's transparent when not in use and opaque at other times.
Touching the screen anywhere reveals a tabbed control wheel that lets you access your most commonly used features, like email, SMS, contacts, music and the camera.
In true Blackberry style, there is a keyboard incorporated into back of the handset which will keep fans happy.
The Empathy connects to a biometrics ring, which is worn by the user. This collects emotional data by examining the user’s heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature and skin secretions.
This emotional data is made visible to your contacts. In turn you will be able to see your friends mood if they are wearing the ring.
Every contact on your phone will have an avatar, which is composed of two rings that shows your friend’s previous and current emotional states.
However, for this to become a key feature of the Empathy, you must have a sufficient number of people wearing the ring.
Whether or not the phone will hit the market only time will tell. Critics have branded the phone 'ugly as sin', although Blackberry fans may beg to differ. What do you think? Have your say on Manufacturing Digital’s Facebook page.
