Operating since 1997, Valpak is a leading provider of environmental solutions to UK organisations and operates one of the country’s largest plastic material recovery facilities.
The forums have been launched as a means to not only keep businesses knowledge of environmental legislation current, but to cut through the complex governmental red tape and simplify the convoluted process. Also discussed will be energy and waste management advice and techniques to improve production efficiencies and benefit both the business and environment.
Making up the panel of experts at a number of these events will be representatives from the Environment Agency (EA), Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) and the Department of Environment Northern Ireland (DOE NI).

Valpak’s Chief Executive Officer, Steve Gough, commented:
“We understand that some businesses may find keeping up-to-date with legislation to be time consuming and complex, which is why we have launched these Regional Forums. They will provide an excellent opportunity for any business to make sure that they continue to be or are fully compliant with all environmental legislation that affects them.”
“A number of companies are currently completing or have completed Civil Sanction Enforcement Undertakings to make up for prior offences under the Packaging Waste Regulations in England and Wales. This demonstrates how non-compliance with environmental legislation can have both financial and reputational implications.”
The Regional Forums will be run throughout June and July 2012, will be free of charge and are open to any UK business.
Gough concluded:
“Forum attendees can take away practical information which can be applied to their business strategies the very next day. The information that they will receive will help them to ensure that their business is compliant with all environmental legislation, as well as offering tips and advice on how to manage costs and enhance their reputation.”
