ITW Warehouse Automation (ITWWA) has used the platform provided by ProMat 2013 to unveil its StorFast cart-based, ultra high-density, AS/RS solution to the North American market.
The cart-based AS/RS maximises storage capacity with a higher density and throughput when compared to traditional crane-based systems. The StorFast design is modular, so can be easily expanded as capacity requirements and stock increases.
StorFast has incorporated a greater level of efficiencies with its new solution, with carts able to operate on each level of the system and can even change levels when required.
Visitors to ITWWA’s ProMat booth were able to see a live demonstration of how the cart-system worked within a closed loop, a loop which incorporated the company’s innovative Octopus stretch wrap machine.
Vice-President of Sales at ITWWA, Jeff Stingel commented:
“We are very excited to introduce StorFast to North America. We’ve experience great success with in Europe for either optimising existing facilities or new buildings. Displaying it with the Octopus stretch wrapper further reinforces our ability to offer fully-integrated warehousing solutions.”
An industry standard for many years, the redesigned Octopus features a load stabiliser, a new load lift conveyor and the highly-anticipated No Touch No Tail (NT²) seaming device – an effective and efficient alternative to heat seal pads or wide down systems.
“For those looking to maximise warehouse efficiencies and minimise costs of their palletizers, ITWWA’s robotic systems enable quick pallet changeover options, gentle product handling and minimal maintenance requirements.
“ITWWA offers proven, scalable systems for a variety of industries. We are excited to showcase our capabilities and help visitors achieve their warehouse automation needs.”
